Hear the songs of the beautiful Verandah Chix that reflect their rare heritages. Dance with the Korean Cultural Centre as they perform the Pilbong Nongak. Experience the traditions of the Ethiopia Bahil dance group and meet your host African-Australian community leader Sharon Orapeleng.
Grab a bite from the pop-up eateries, Australian native kangaroo nachos, Eritrean curries, Korean Mandoo and other delights, whilst relaxing on the grass by the river at sunset.
Join the singing workshop and perform with the choir.
Take a tour of the new exhibitions Queensland Faces and Peace & Quiet, and add your portrait to the digital gallery.
Get creative and make a lantern with Upatree Arts and join the twilight lantern parade that finishes the day.
The Big Day of Belonging will officially launch SLQ’s yearlong theme of belonging with an afternoon for all ages to tell stories, share with others, and be inspired by our state’s diverse people and places.
